::PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS::

Thank you for your interest in UMASS women's ice hockey!

Our team competes in the ACHA againt the top club women's hockey programs in the nation. The team practices three times a week and plays a 25-30 game schedule. If you are interested in playing with our team, please email umasshockeymail@yahoo.com.

ABILITY LEVELS: We have a wide variety of ability levels in our program. Some girls have played for a good portion of their lives, others on men's high school teams, while others began their organized hockey career with us.

EQUIPMENT: Don't rush out and buy a new helmet for the upcoming season...we require that every player purchases maroon helmet and shells. After you have made the team, we send in an order for everything at a great price that you won't find elsewhere.

PRACTICES: We have on-ice practice 3 times a week and off ice practice twice a week.  

GAMES: Our schedule usually allows us to play 2 games every weekend (one home and one away).  Occasionally we travel for an entire weekend.

TOURNAMENTS: Sometimes we travel across the country to participate in tournaments hosted by ACHA teams.

SIGNING UP: Once you have been accepted to UMass, you can attend the open meeting for prospective players (walk-ons definitely welcome!!!). The meeting are held during the second week of September. Look for our table in the Campus Center when the new year begins. Also keep checking this website for updates.

We work hard as a team, but most importantly we have fun.
