The goal of the Interdepartmental Graduate Student Colloquium Series (IGSCS) is to provide graduate students with an opportunity to learn about research done by graduate students in various disciplines. The series consists of monthly semi-formal lectures given by graduate students about their own research. The lectures will be aimed towards people who are not working in the discipline—i.e., no background knowledge of the field is required in order to attend. Nevertheless, the goal is to present current research topics, rather than a general overview of a discipline. Each meeting will last about 45-60 minutes including lecture and Q&A.
Another goal of the IGSCS is to generate interdepartmental dialogue – both social and professional.
Refreshments - pizza and soft-drinks - will be available after each meeting.
Special thanks to GSS for supporting IGSCS
