I am a Senior English major at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, specializing in Professional Writing and Technical Communication. I will be graduating on May 23, 2009 and will be available for employment in early June, 2009.
I am seeking a position in a challenging, unique and creative work environment.
My background in technical, formal and creative writing will serve as an asset to a position in
which written communication skills are of considerable importance.
Furthermore, experience in both the professional realm and at the University has prepared me for a position in a socially just and people oriented environment.
During four semesters as a Resident Assistant in a first-year dormitory, I developed interpersonal communication skills and effectively enforced University policy while assisting residents both academically and emotionally. In my internship experience at 826 Boston, I worked to support programs students in low-income areas by providing both hands on instruction and performing research for securing funding through grants.
