Fulbright Experiences

Professor  Bhowmik has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to teach in Bangladesh for one semester. The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. Since January, 2007, Dr. Bhowmik has been at the Department of Agronomy, Sher-e-Bangla University (SAU) in Dhaka.  He is primarily responsible for teaching a Weed Science course this semester that is designed for graduate students pursuing an M. S. degree. This class consists of  a 90 minute lecture twice a week for 53 Graduate Students. In addition, he is co-teaching a basic agronomy course to 210 freshmen students in three sessions. Dr. Bhowmik hopes to provide agronomy students from Bangladesh a modern view on the subject of weed science.

Dr. Bhowmik invites you to share his experiences in Bangladesh by visiting his online journal.  Please click on the links below to enter each part, and come back, from time to time, to see if a new part has been posted.  While reading the journal, please feel free to click on any of the beautiful illustrations to see an enlargement of each picture.  Prasanta Bhowmik hopes you enjoy this special journey with him.
