My work aims to explore the relationship I currently have with my own body, my family and the individuals I invite into my life. Currently I am working on themes of reproduction, multiplicity and obsessive thoughts. I aim to explore our connection to other humans and to nature through the idea of irrational, instinctual and uncontrollable thoughts that take over one's mind and body. I am very interested in the body's processes and how these processes continue whether we want them to or not. This uncontrollability fuels my work and allows me to further investigate they ways in which we attempt to exert control over the body and mind. The body is represented as both scientific through use of medical drawings and as mysterious by way of fantastical growths and swarms of graphite circles. The graphite "swarms" begin to explain the elements of ourselves that we are incapable of controlling, as well as the elements about ourselves that both fascinate and repulse us.
