In February 2008 I graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Before the birth of my son, Max, in March of 2008, I worked for a local non-profit animal shelter. My role there as a Site Supervisor allowed me to combine skills in small animal care with skills in leadership and management.
Following the birth of my son, I resigned from the position of Site Supervisor and began a new role as a stay-at-home mother. I currently live in Hadley, Massachusetts with my husband Andrew, our son Max, Andrew’s older sons Jacob and Ethan, our two cats “Oxie” and “Kagome,” as well as our very affectionate mutt named “Cole”. I enjoy Hadley because of its close proximity to a number of college campuses and its rich history as a farming community.
In addition to caring for Max, Jacob and Ethan, I enjoy continued education and am currently in the process of completing the five courses that make up the Professional Writing and Technical Communication Program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After completion of this program I plan to pursue a career in professional writing. It is my hope that along with the Professional Writing and Technical Communication Program classes, I will be able to put my science background to good use.
In designing this site, my goal was to use images from nature to design a simple, yet tasteful, site.
