THE GRADUATE/INTERNATIONAL

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP OASIS

About Us

This fellowship is affiliated with the Graduate InterVarsity Christian Fellowship nationally and regionally.  Our fellowship was founded in the Fall of 2000 with the goal of ministering to the graduate and international students at the University of Massachusetts. The group started with a few students in an informal investigative Bible Study and has grown into a close-knit community of graduate students committed to growing in Christ together and integrating our academic and spiritual lives. We're hoping that as the group continues to grow and develop, it will be able to reach out to, meet the needs of, and effectively serve the larger university community.  We are holding regular Bible studies on Friday evenings and host several special events.  We hope to continue these ministries and add others as interest and need lead us.

Our Friday Night Bible Study is a gathering of students from different academic fields and from a variety of nations and cultures for a time of worship, fellowship, and growing together through the study of God's word.  Our time studying the Bible is not meant to be one person lecturing the group, but rather those in the group engaging each other in conversation around a particular topic or specific passage in Scripture.  Being an international gathering, we value the opportunity to learn from each other and to see how God uses the richness of our cultural diversity to help us experience life in His kingdom in a fuller way.

We begin our Friday evenings with a time of worship, singing praise songs and praying together as a large group.  We then break off into small groups for in-depth Bible study and prayer time.
