TSIMSHIANIC

The Tsimshianic languages are spoken in the Nass Valley and along the lower half of the Skeena and in adjoining islands and coastal areas of British Columbia as well as in one community in present day Alaska. There are four languages: Coast Tsimshian, Southern Tsimshian, Nisga'a amd Gitksan. For more information on Tsimshianic as well as other Northwest cultures and languages, visit the Northwest Coast Knowledge base, maintained by Margaret Anderson of UNBC.
